To keep our world liveable and thriving, we need to double global circularity

The Circle Economy published its annual Circularity Gap Report that sets that our current economy is only 8.6% circular, the world is consuming 100 billion tonnes of materials a year and it is 1-degree warmer.

Circular strategies are the way to prevent climate breakdown. We need only double the current global circularity rate of 8.6% to face this situation. The report offers 21 circular solutions, to drop emissions by 39% and down to the levels needed to keep us on a path well below 2-degrees world by 2032, and lays out a roadmap for how countries can steer action that will protect and repair our planet.
